Dollens Electric is a family-owned San Jose electrical contractor providing residential electrical and solar expertise for homeowners throughout San Jose, Santa Clara County and the South Bay.
Our approach is straightforward: understand the system first, explain what we find, and recommend the work the home actually needs.
Our Story
A San Jose Electrical Company Built Around Technical Knowledge and Family
Dollens Electric was founded in 2005 by Jason Dollens. Before entering the electrical trade, Jason worked with computer systems and technical equipment, developing the kind of problem-solving mindset that still shapes how we approach electrical troubleshooting today.
After gaining hands-on electrical experience and earning his California contractor's license, Jason started Dollens Electric with the support of his father, Steve, and his wife, Josephine.
What began as a local electrical company grew alongside changes in the homes we serve. Electrical panels became more complex. Solar became part of the residential electrical system. EV charging, battery backup and modern electrical loads changed the way homes use power.
Dollens Electric grew with those changes without losing the principle the company was built on: Service With Integrity From Our Family To Yours.

Modern homes do not separate neatly into electrical, solar, batteries, EV charging and backup power. These systems interact, and decisions made in one part of the home can affect another.
Electrical First
Our C-10 electrical background means we look at the home's service, panel, wiring, circuits, grounding, capacity and safety before recommending equipment or upgrades.
A tripping breaker does not automatically mean a new panel. An older home does not automatically need a full rewire. We start with what the system is actually telling us.
Real Solar Service Experience
Our C-46 solar experience allows us to work beyond the modules on the roof and understand how the inverter, disconnects, breakers, wiring, monitoring and home electrical system work together.
